Visa cards in my mind are the most preferable ones, as they are accepted all over the world and more prestigious than MasterCard. Those like Discover or AmEx are problematic tp impossible to use abroad.

Visa are one of the best for me. The thing is not only in prestige. Practically, when it comes to the push it doesn't matter so much for you. Many of us just have firsthand knowledge. They have perfect reputation, and there's no mention about scam... I've been using their plastics, and I have no regrets about his, really.
